Web Site Help
We hope you enjoy the skyskan.com web site and offer these additional bits of help should you experience difficulty navigating it.
Site Navigation
The site is broken down into five major sections: Company, Products, Services, Reference, and Links. Each of these sections contains one or more subsections. While you can directly link to skyskan.com or any of the five major sections, you cannot link to a subsection. For instance: You can link to www.skyskan.com/Services, but not to www.skyskan.com/Services/support. For your convenience, we have also implemented a search engine to help you find information. You will find a link to the search engine at the top right of every page next to the Sky-Skan logo.
You can navigate to each of the subsections from either the primary navigation bar on the left hand side of the screen, or from the table of brief descriptions at the primary page for each of the major sections. Several of the subsections, SPICE Automation for instance, contains many individual pages listing products. You can navigate to each of these product pages by clicking on the corresponding link. To move back, simply press the back button on your browser to move up one level, or select a subsection catagory in the navbar on the left. Your section and subsection will always be listed at the top of the page in the header area.
Much of the functionality of skyskan.com requires the use of client-side JavaScript. We recommend that you use a compatible web browser to make use of this functionality. Among those that work are Firefox or version 4.5 or higher of either Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. We recommend the latest version of Firefox or Internet Explorer. While other browsers may display the pages correctly, we do not provide support for functionality in other browsers.
Rollover information.
In order to provide brief information for each section and subsection without additional navigation, we have provided rollover tips for the navbar. These extra tips show above the navigational menu on the left and are visible as long as your mouse is over the corresponding link in the navbar. Using client-side JavaScript, these rollovers require you to have JavaScript enabled on your browser, but to not require any additional software, nor do they perform any function other than provide additional link information.
Forms Submit
Occasionally browsers have difficulty correctly submitting forms. Should you have trouble submitting any information from one of the forms on our site, please use the email link provided above the form to submit the information manually. Please make sure to include all the information contained in the form in your email.
Images and download speed
While making enormous efforts to maintain the smallest pages possible for download convenience, the nature of our site necessitates large numbers of images. We have compressed all our images as much as possible while maintaining legibility and esthetic standards. Because of some of these larger images, or pages with large numbers of thumbnails, slower connections may wish to disable automatic image downloading. We recommend against this, however, as the imagery featured at skyskan.com is a very important part of the site.
Links that open other windows
Skyskan.com employs a pop up window scheme for some of the images on the site; most notably in the production media subsection. These windows use simple JavaScripts and pose no harm to your machine or its browser functionality. The scripts are designed to allow only one open image window for each image class at a time to prevent screen clutter. Therefore, you could open one NASM All-Sky and one NASM Panorama, but not two panoramas.
