SPICE AUTOMATION SOFTWARE
Orchestrating the mind-boggling parade of projectors, players, speakers, and other creatures of the cove demands the best control system money can buy. And the best control system needs user software that can access its power.
SPICE Automation software provides an elegant user interface to the system. It runs on virtually any IBM PC-compatible computer. A full lexicon of device commands not only takes care of conventional media, such as slide projectors and video disc players, but handles the truly unusual denizens of the dome—such as your star projector.
To design the software, we brought together experts in interface design, multi-image programming, theater control, and planetarium show production. From these consultations, plus a decade of feedback from early users, evolved a number of key features:
Minimal keystrokes required for results
System self-corrects via status output to all devices
Customized status displays for all devices visible at a glance
Extensive commenting and search capabilities
Performance modes include SMPTE sync, direct tape playback, live lecture.
and tapeless show sequences
Uniform fade curve across full spectrum of dimmable devices for seamless theatrical "scene" fades
Unique, device-specific cue structure for accurate, efficient programming
Rock-solid programming environment for crash-free performances
In addition to the primary program, the package includes a customized screen display, which may be modified by the user. A download utility lets you update SPICE Automation controllers with the latest firmware, device driver, and device configuration files. Updates and technical support beyond the first year are provided with our Software Maintenance plan.
