BASIL II 10 CHANNEL SPECIAL EFFECTS CONTROLLER

How many special effects projectors reside in your theater? Three? Eight? Twenty-seven? Two hundred?
Whatever the number, you probably don't use them all simultaneously. We've taken advantage of that fact to deliver an economical special effects control solution. BASIL II (the successor to our popular Sky-Stepper) attaches to one SUGAR channel (and/or manual control), but controls up to ten special effects, one at a time. The trick is multiplexing. Inside the box one set of control circuits can be electronically assigned to one of ten output channels (just as a tray of 80 slides can be "assigned" to show one slide at a time). Each of the ten channels provides:
A 0-110V/220V dimming circuit, 10 amp max (normally used for lamp dimming)
A 110V/220V circuit which may be pulsed or switched on and off (useful for motor control)
A dry contact relay circuit with access to the normally-open, normally-closed, and common contacts of the relay (valuable for triggering events such as strobe flashes). This relay may be pulsed or switched on and off.
BASIL II is easy to install and use. Just plug it into a standard 110V/220V wall socket Connect it to a SUGAR channel or manual control (for both automatic and manual control, the manual control is connected through the SUGAR's Manual Control port). Effects are selected by "stepping" up and down between channels 0 - 9 using a manual panel and/or SPICE Automation cues. Once the desired channel has been selected the fade and switch controls operate on that channel only. With two BASIL IIs you can crossfade between effects and have up to twenty effects on-line.
For projectors which require a reset function after use, we recommend our Universal Reset Controller.
