Optical Special Effects Projectors
Over the past thirty years Sky-Skan has developed a complete line of optical special effects. We make our own projectors from the casting up. They feature a professional black finish and can be optionally fitted for mounting on our CoveMountTM alignment system.
The effects described on the following pages simulate a wide variety of sky, planetary, and deep space phenomena. But, in a universe as limitless as ours, you may discover a need not met by any of our standard devices. For specialized requirements we offer a complete custom effect design and production service. A number of planetaria contract Sky-Skan to produce all their effects for a show, finding this a cost-effective alternative to maintaining an extensive in-house capability. The projector upon which many Sky-Skan effects are built features a black finish and a "lite-tite" hood to ensure that the projected image—not the projector—enjoys the full attention of your audience.
